About Janus
Named for the Roman god of doorways — looking both ways at once.
What it does
Janus sits in front of a file or URL. When Facebook, Discord, or other fetchers request the link, they get a harmless preview card. When a real person opens it, Janus serves the download or redirect.
Accounts
Anyone can register. New accounts stay pending until an administrator activates them. After activation, each user manages their own links and sees logs only for those links.
Privacy & security
Passwords are hashed (bcrypt). Sessions use HttpOnly cookies. Forms are CSRF-protected. Login attempts are rate-limited. Access logs record IP, user-agent, and bot/human classification per link.
